Is 30 too old to get back into boxing semi pro?

I've managed to get back in shape after an injury but I'm aware 30 is quite old to get back into boxing. Just after some opinions 20220522_010311.jpg

How long have you been boxing before the layoff?

I boxed as an amateur from age 12 to around 18 stopped when life got in the way. Started again at 27 training for a year or so getting ready for a semi pro fight 3x2 min rounds, broke my heel and took two years to recover properly, haven't trained since the injury but I'm determined to get back into it.

As long as you're healthy and have realistic expectations I don't see why not. A fit 30 year old with some past experience is perfectly fine having some boxing matches. Just be careful they don't screw you over with the matchmaking so you won't get an opponent with a lot more experience.

Hard to make money unless you have a legit following
            (Unless that isn't your motivation)

You should know what your limitations are, regardless of age/condition.

              It's now or never...

Many famous people have said, and I believe it, that you are more likely to regret things you haven't done than those you have. That said, don't get brain damage.

You can get back into it but I'd recommend a few amateur fights to test yourself and get your reflexes back. At 175 do you plan on draining down to compete at 160 or 168? Today's light-heavyweights are big, they walk around at 200 pounds or better.

Is you slick in there or just a rock em sock em robot? You have to have skills and technique if you getting back in there at your age.

At that age, I would highly advise against it. There’s absolutely no reason to take shots to the head when there’s no real money involved. I’m in the gym 4 days a week with my 11 year old, who’s fighting silver gloves, and I want so bad to gear up and do some sparring, but why take the chance. Anything can happen in that ring.
