How many miles can you run?

I used to run track in high school, mind you, that was like 8 years ago, I am a good runner but through the years I stopped running, put on 20 lbs, and drink a bit. I finally started to run again over the past month and been working on my endurance. First I started doing 2 miles and that was pretty f'n hard, I almost puked but over the month(I've been running 5 out of 7 days), I've been better. I ran today from about 9:30 am till 11 and did 6 miles. That was with a 10 minute break between.

In 2010 I ran 18 miles training with my boss for a marathon.

If I don't run for months, my cardio goes down and I aim for 5 KM, which must be 3 miles.

However if you are very out of shape, I tell people to target 2 KM which is just over a mile. (1.6 KM is 1 mile)

The thing about jogging is consistency, you got to maintain that cardio and get use to the legs being in pain. Now, I haven't run much at all and cycle only, but I can cycle 20 miles easily.

I agree with the pain. When I had less time I'd run maybe once a week and my legs would be throbbing, could hardly stand the next day. Now that I've been running every day or almost every day my legs feel great. I've lost 12 lbs over the past month as well. Probably need to lose 10 more lbs to say I'm in as good as shape as when I was 20.

That's a lot of miles, must of ate up a lot of time. I am not ready to do that. Even when I ran track I don't know if I ever could do that(I did short distance running).
