Have you heard of the LifeStraw? It's a very lightweight, portable, cheap, personal water filter.

They are handing these things out in "third world" countries and it is saving lives!

Beats hauling gallons of water in your car at all times!
You could distill almost anything (even seawater) if you had neither. Just need the right equipment.

I could survive for a while there. I'd hate every single day of that schit though.

I'm not too big on killing animals either. However, push come to shove, I'm eating rabbit and other furry critters. I've gone vegan and vegetarian for 30 days on two separate occasions before, so even if I couldn't reliably find meat sources, I'd be straight on vegetation for a while.

Again, I'd hate EVERY SINGLE DAY of that schit though.

I could probably for as long as my sanity would allow.

          Five things I would want:

For short term < 30 days

          Multi-tool
          Tarp for shelter
          Fire starter
Small caliber rifle for small game and self defense
Canteen or thermos for storing and boiling water

              Amazon Rainforest

Since no one is making their own, I guess I'll try to keep this ball rolling!
Locations will become more and more difficult, and the format may continue to change.

              Amazon Rainforest

              Region: Amazon Rainforest (South America)
              Season: Summer
Gear: Bowie Knife, Ferro Rod, Recurve Bow, Fishing Net, Med-kit
Survival Skills: Climbing, Hunting/Fishing, Trapping/Snaring, Building Shelters, etc.
Risks: Malaria/Disease, Infection, Hypothermia, Trenchfoot, Injury, Drowning, Starving, Indigenous Tribes, Venomous Creatures, JAGUARS
              Survives: Likely until Winter?

In Yosemite? Ages. My bro-in-law is a regular climber of El Cap so I’d head for the Meadow and live a life stealing from tents and ****ing stoner chicks who start creaming their panties at my accent every time I speak.

                      Me too.

Maybe a little longer, but when my phone battery dies, I'm dying with it.
