    I'm getting real into Buddhism

    This stuff is epic!

"Immediately after being born, the Buddha got up, took seven steps and proclaimed 'this is the last time I will be born.'"

If you just dismiss Buddhism as some wacky religion without reading into it you're missing out!
The lore and lessons to be learned are incredible, even if you don't become a literal subscriber to the rebirth stuff.

"Sow an act, reap a habit; sow a habit, reap a character; sow a character, reap a destiny."

Fire is an appropriate metaphor for desire since it consumes what it feeds on without being satisfied.

In Buddhist art the three roots of evil, greed, hatred, and delusion are represented by a ****, a pig, and a snake with their tails in each other's mouths. This represents how giving into these evils only gives rise to more evils.

Its another form of mind control, used for manipulating the masses. Keeeping the poor satisfied to stop them overthrowing their government/leader/king....who usually has a lot of wealth

Most of the precepts aren't followed by any of the wealthy in buddhist countries. You'll usually find the wealthy buddhist are the most corrupt, the most evil. Yet its them that promote the religion.

It appeals to millennials & hipsters in the same way as skinny jeans, man buns & neck tattoos.

It seems like all organized religions have that problem. Like that televangelist recently who wanted all his viewers to chip in and buy him a private jet.
