NBA crisis over declining tv ratings and why NBA kissing up to China is so important

I don't understand the appeal of basketball.

I like superheavyweight boxing. I understand the appeal of watching two giant mutants beat the crap out of each other, albeit clumsily.

But to take the violence out and create a sport that revolves around watching a bunch of Wilders & Valuevs just jogging around in squeaky shoes whimpering about fouls?

Just seems like the worst of all worlds.

Maybe ratings are down because just about any contact now is a foul and fans are getting sick of it because nobody can play any defense? Or is that just old fart hardcore fans like me? It used to just happen with the superstars, now everything is a foul, centers aren't important anymore and final scores are almost as high as all star games.

When super teams cause fans to not have any faith in their one-superstar team. That's what happens but they are saying it's because LeBron's team(Lakers) wasn't doing well so i guess the casuals didn't bother to tune in.
