    The battle of myeongnyang

I was reading a book on military strategy and they mentioned this naval battle in the japanese korean war where the korean admiral held off 100 japanese ships with only 13 ships in their last stand.

The japanese were defeated, leaving with only about 10 ships, and the koreans didn't lose a single one. It was the most perfect naval victory in human history.

Apparently they made a movie about it, so I'm downloadeling the 4k version right now lol

Here's some scenes from youtube while I wait, I haven't seen it yet.

Then, the Japanese defeated the Russians, and took over the Korean Peninsula, ****ing everything in sight, and brought Koran women to japan, so they could get killed with Japanese kok!

The Koreans are still wanting money and an apology..

Good thread. I love reading stuff about big underdogs winning agaisnt empires. apart from the obvious in Vietnam defeating the yanks, Finland beating the Russians in 1939 & the Scotts beating the Brits in the battle of Bannockburn are two of my favourites. This documentry is brilliant:

Btw if anyone is ever in Seoul, i cant recommend the National Musuem and the War Musuem enough, both free entry and absolutely huge, best musuems i have been to.

Great naval battles. Look up lord Nelson, battle of trafalgar

DescriptionThe Battle of Trafalgar was a naval engagement fought by the British Royal Navy against the combined fleets of the French and Spanish Navies during the War of the Third Coalition of the Napoleonic Wars. Wikipedia

The impact of this naval battle ... England ruled the seas, with battleships, and projected power, like America does now.

Another very important Naval battle was when the Japanese took on the Russians,

The Battle of Tsushima (Russian: Цусимское сражение, Tsusimskoye srazheniye), also known as the Battle of Tsushima Strait and the Naval Battle of the Sea of Japan (Japanese: 日本海海戦, Nihonkai-Kaisen) in Japan, was a major naval battle fought between Russia and Japan during the Russo-Japanese War.

All the western powers (European) expected Russia to crush Japan, didnt happen,
The Japanese fixed the Russian navy to split its forces. And japan crushed them.

After that humiliating devastating defeat. Japan was a force to be reckoned with.

One thing that stands out was that Japan ... switched from coal burning steam engines to petrol engines..forcing japan to fight wars for oil!
