What would you have your son do as a career if he was not smart?

I'd try to encourage him to do something useful, being a caregiver or something like that, and I'd top him up financially for doing so.

If I produce a son shy of braincells I owe it to him to give him a chance of a decent life with some meaning.

I would tell him screw all the hard subjects, just take the most basic math, science, like no calculus or chemistry Or physics. Encourage him to try his best at p e (gym) and spend a lot of time in the auto mechanics department. Eventually the goal would be to get him so involved in auto shop class that the teacher takes him in as a prodigy. Meaning he gets to spend all his time on cars instead of going to class. Maybe take the stress off of homework and get him to where his knowledge will train him to become an auto mechanic. Work something out with the principle, to have him taking this trade as a work Ed class maybe. This way he is set for life without having to pay for schooling after high school well at least not as much money. The specialties are endless: marine, wheelchair, auto, train repair. I would feel very proud of him if he could do all that! And if he wants some extra coin tell him to get a job at a tire store changing tires part time.

When I was in auto mech we didn't know anything. The teacher was a badass. He told us to leave the lamps and lights on all the time because "electricity is a reusable source" he talked so much stuff about cars man. I think only one kid went on to become a mechanic in that class. Most just used it for extra credits as shop classes.

There was always this one kid though working by himself in the shop behind the scenes while we were being tutored to. It was weird we didn't know who he was just some kid who hung out in the shop all day. And if cars doesn't add up to being his thing he can do drafting, woodworking, or graphics. Get him immersed with his hands instead of going the scholarly route. I swear, I'm sure we all weren't a students as high schoolers. You gotta make those years count for something. Ie an education that will pay off instead of just a basic education in regular classes. You know what I mean? And if he had any problems with English literature I would help him out in language arts. What else is there left to do? Get whms, 1st aid and cpr, and maybe ... As options, food handlers cert while volunteering at local warehouse, maybe get forklift cert, or else go the security guard route. Endless opportunities man, not just friggin studying.

Need to be pretty smart and logical to be a tradesman.

If your're calling a sparky or gas engineer a tradesman.

Would you want a dumbo fixing your gas boiler? C.unt will blow your house to Kingdom come.

Or a joiner, or a Kitchen fitter, a plumber?

My nearly 5 year old son is probably already smarter than me so he's going to do just fine.

But to truly answer the question, I guess I'd show him the ropes of how to mow a damn fine a lawn and work that weed eater like a boss lol.

I've already shown him how to grow various vegetables and we plant sunflowers every year for fun so I'll probably teach him that landscaping type stuff anyway just to earn a quick buck as a young teenager.
