Don't really recall the details of that fight, but all things aren't equal. I do recall some feeling Porter deserved the decision so maybe doe. Mainly I don't recall that fight well enough to say either way. I just know what I saw & thought last night which was what you quoted.

Holm is a counterstriker by nature and is very effective at that. If she's forced to push the action like she was tonight, she resorts to throwing very predictable combinations. She looks awkward and uncomfortable striking first.

Rousey has terrible defense and was overly aggressive which was tailor made for Holm. Holm hasn't looked good since because her last three opponents fought a smarter game and didn't think they were invincible like Ronda.

I still thought Holm did enough to win.

I still think her last three performances have been so underwhelming in comparison to her first 8-11, or however many fights she had before the Rousey fight.

She seems to not be as explosive, powerful/strong.

I was picking Holm to win, but I believe Randamie barely nicked it.

She definitely won the first two rounds without a doubt.

The next three rounds were really close - Holm deserved the 3rd and 5th, I believe. I think it was the third round where she landed that devastating kick that almost arsed Randamie, and in the 5th, she clipped her chin with that straight left while Randamie was coming forward, and really put her on ***** street.


The 4th I don't remember much aside from a lot of clinching ad leaning on the cage.

Porter was significantly more active but missing punches. Brook got decent counters at times, but was largely inactive and clinched a hell of a lot to stop Porter's linebacking, and Brook got a split thanks to a ref who wasn't calling foul.

Same scenario - Brook was effectively inactive, Porter was ineffectively active. LOL

I think Holm should have won this fight should by one round or at least have it a draw if the ref had deducted a point, which he should have done. But Holly Holm still looked mediocre as hell point fighting against an opponent who was supposed to be an easy win. Her stand-up looked awesome against a non-striking faux boxer like Rousey but against anyone else with capable striking, she looks average at best and has a very weak killer instinct. Very disappointing showing from Holm.

Yes, I've been think this! I saw some of her boxing matches on youtube and her striking looked really poor compared to some women's boxers I've seen.

Also, I remember Paulie Malignaggi on his podcast talking about how she was kind of protected as a boxer because she sold a lot of tickets in her home town.

That maybe explains why Rousey thought she could beat her in stand up, but it shows how bad Rousey's stand up is that she got owned like that.
