The issue is applicable for most if not all multi title holders the past 30 plus years.

Too many titles available so gaining one is “cheap”. THEN you have the issue of legit champions vs paper champions. Today it’s relatively easy to be a multi belt/multi division holder but it means little. One cannot compare the accomplishments of say Henry Armstrong who held three legit world championships against Paq who held 8. It was far more difficult to win a championship when their was only one champion per division and only 8 total divisions.

Yes, some of his titles are lineal titles.

Even some of those are disputable. I don't say this to pick on Pac, I usually use this against Wlad actually, but lineal based on ranking is a very counterintuitive thing to do. If the point of lineal is being so fed up with bodies you want nothing to do with them, then, why does everyone justify a vacancy in lineal being satisfied by ratings? Ratings are a body invention not a lineal tradition.

Historians have gotten so antsy to name a lineal they break lineal to do it. Truth is the old lineal has to declare the new one or the new one has to become the undisputed. Since that'd cause such huge gaps in time with no lineal champion they go a head and crown a lineal and use body logic to justify it.

The ones Pac won by beating the current lineal I'd call legitimate. The ones won on the rating justification I don't because I don't for anyone. That's not the truth behind a lineal transfer, it is made up **** that has nothing to do with lineal and everything to do with making lineal a little more like a body title.
