He didn't fight enough, but he just landed more punches.

Yea, your logic makes perfect sense.

Oscar stole a close round or two based on more effective punching. Whitaker spent this whole fight going backwards and clowning, which is something you do when you don't like getting hit. He obviously was.

In the past, I used to accept scorecards that had it a draw, but watching it again the judges were actually pretty spot on. One had the same score as me while the other two each gave Oscar an extra round. They were slightly too wide but nothing unbelievable. I would love for a Whitaker fan to explain to me how he won this fight. Really, if a Whitaker fan can show me 6 rounds he won, I would love to hear why.

So thus far I have scored the fights

Whitaker-De La Hoya: 115-111 De La Hoya
      De La Hoya-Quartey: 114-111 Quartey
De La Hoya-Trinidad: 117-111 De La Hoya
      De La Hoya-Mosley I: 115-113 Mosley

Scoring fights is really you assessment at that view that you watched the fight, thats why they have 3 judges and 3 different angles at fights, they never see the exact same thing ever. When I first watched Hopkins/Wright on HBO, I being a Hop fan had Wright winning by 2 rounds, when I watched the same fight on Sky Sports, who used different camera angles than HBO, I had Hopkins winning by 3 rounds easy. Same fight different camera angles, different results from me.
