He can't beat any top featherweights. His best bet is to try and get back down to 122.

Y are so many people hating on this fight? I feel that the reason is because these guys aren't P4P the best out there. A good fight is a good fight. The name of a fighter shouldn't mean a thing. I mean really, what were people expecting? A defensive Willie Pep type fight? These guys went to war! Appreciate what they did tonight, even if it wasn't the most significant fight out there.

Either Ceja or Ruiz vs Frampton would be amazing. Or if Mares drops back down he can challenge Frampton as well, that would be another great match up.

        For now, don't mind me....
Glad I decided not to go to the fight, I would have been fighting all of the Santa Claus fans, , . First Mares fight in like 5 years that took place in California that I didn't go to.

I didn't score the fight while I was watching it, but I honestly thought I saw a draw or a close win for either guy.

Mares doesn't match up well against lanky fighters like Gonzalez and Santa Cruz so I wouldn't want to see Mares vs. Ruiz. Mares vs. Ceja and Frampton vs. Ruiz sounds good though.

Do you know when Ceja stopped working with Don Nacho?

Mares never looked great at 126. I think he moved too fast. LSC looked like the far bigger guy with the reach and frame.

I don't know if he'll ever be the same Mares, but there's no reason why he can't go to 122.

Me and everybody I watched it thought it was a highly entertaining bout with plenty of action. Also, fight was a lot closer than 117-11 although it's nice to see LSC finally get a good win.

Not surprised people on here hating on it and saying "meh, not impressed." I'm sure watching the fight on your laptop through a fuzzy stream alone might have something to do with it. lol

Good Close Fight! Not sure about a Classic but no question it was a good one.

Of course you have just a few that will find all the negatives and focus on that but who cares the feedback on social media are all positive the people in attendance was on their feet at the end

Win/Win for Leo and Mares when you put it all on the line like that both won over some New Fans I am sure

But a 10 punch Mayweather fight is the GOAT fight.

It was a great fight. Maybe some expected something similar to the trilogy of Barrera-Morales but tonight Mares and Leo threw combined above 2000 punches. Mares lost a step after being KOed by Gonzales and he probably should try going back to 122 Lbs. Leo should continue stepping up.

                      It was on ESPN, bro.

                      No need for theatrics.
