Any reason why GGG chose to get stripped instead of fighting Andrade and Derevy ?

Surely he'd want to build on his four IBF defences rather than cash out and end it, in hindsight. 4 defences of the only title he won is good but nowhere near elite/hof/atg.
I think he’ll get into the HOF when it’s all said and done , if you don’t cool i guess we’ll find out

But to me a strap isn’t worth 8 figures whether that’s 10-25 million or however much he earned , Youd think that rematch $ would him and his kids up for life . If you do think that straps and legacy are that important, that’s cool

And if you think Golovkin keeping his straps and fighting Devre a guy who had like
12 fights against no real threats and not fighting Canelo in sept wouldnt shred his reputation among most in the sport who think he’s cherry picked his entire career would be a better career move , well i think you’d be wrong on that too

    But to each their own

Your argument is ****** because G didn’t take the Canelo fight to cash out, he took both of them because he expected to win them.

i am saying in hindsight,if he'd followed my path, he'd might be champ today, so might this have been a better path for him.
its not an argument, its a possibility. The possibility of making more than 4 ibf defences and still having a title rather than facing canelo and having nothing today.

YOu cant say its not tempting.

Probably didn't want to risk a big payday. Especially since he was intent on squeezing extra money out of Canelo, which he managed to do.

I don't think Andrade really comes into it, but even if he faced and beat Derevyanchenko, he wouldn't of gotten any props for it on here. From most corners at least.

So we’re acknowledging that GGG has a crystal ball in this scenario?

Because he didn't want to risk the Canelo fight.

hindsight infers looking back, crystal ball infers looking forward.

yes I was asking if Golovkin had a crystal ball back when Canelo got suspended, in your scenario.

A crystal ball is not needed for hindsight.

Oh boy. Here comes a new GGG hater as if this forum didn't have enough of them already. He was not stripped of any world title for not fighting Andrade. That was the WBO title owned by Saunders. Learn what the hell you are talking about before you start a thread. Use your common sense if you have any. GGG had a huge money fight with the very formidable Canelo coming up shortly. At that point in time he did not want to fight a tough SOB like Derevy because of the possibility of an injury to himself that could cause the Canelo fight to be delayed or postponed and he didn't want wear and tear on himself right before fighting Canelo. Any other boxer would have done exactly the same thing and you would say nothing. But because GGG did it it becomes this terrible crime of the century to haters like you.
