Why apologize? They're just gonna say it's not good enough.......

Think it sooo funny how Sergey Kov. Racist comments don't get half the backlash.

Not too long ago when people brought up the things Sergey said its like alot of guys were defending it or asking the vintage "how was that racist" comment.

But oh well.... Im not the least bit surprised on this site.

Haney is a kid... Kids use the term White Boy all the time. In a perfect world we could equalize the impact of words, but in real life it does not work that way. The N word is fundamentally different in its structure, use and evocation than the W word.

It is very natural for a cheeky Black kid to make a statement like Haney did...Thats probably why he did it... It does not make him a racist. When I was teaching High School I had a kid tell me that I looked like M&M. At the time I did not know M&M was White...So the kid inferred my lack of knowledge and camly told me that M&M and I were both "White Boys." Big deal! I know I know if the situation were reversed, but words grow their own gravitas and using the N word is very different whether we like it, or not.

“I sincerely regret using a term that I have now learned to be derogatory to many of my fans, friends and associates.”

So, did you think that shit was a compliment at first?

No he's not. The only way he'll learn is when he gets beat by a "white boy" and sees his false sense of racial superiority fall apart.

That's a totally different context than Haney's comment. Haney's statement that he'd never lose to a white boy infers that white people are inferior, so therefore one could never beat him.

I'm pretty sure most people called him out as a racist, he clearly resorted to racist taunts at his opponents that irked him. Slavs don't typically have the same knowledge of how Western culture treats racism as a stain on your personality. I think that's what people said to explain his seeming indifference but it was clearly meant to be racist and ****ty.

At least he'll hopefully think twice before seeking to make his next fight a race thing. That would be one positive result from this.
Yeah I get that. His PR folks wrote up a statement for him and insisted this was the way to go. We've all said things we regret, especially at his age. The problem is, if you continue to surround yourself with people who think this way, nothing will ever change. Hopefully he gets to eat his words one day and be humbled like Bernard.

He repeated it many times and said he didn't care what people thought about his view on the matter. This is clearly his PR team talking, not him.
