I think DON Aire is just too good @118 even if he struggled to make weight, that's why his opponents looks like bums... in my opinion, Don Aire should be fighting @126 already and move up eventually to 135 where the $$$ for big fights is. but as you have said and nonito himself, it will all depends on uncle BOB.

totally agree, nonito is not getting any younger and he is on his prime..he's too much at lower weight division.

Three fights at bantam Jun-Jun, that's all I ask for. Moreno first, then the winner of Agbeko-Mares and Komeda for dessert. If he goes up to featherweight this year and fights Lopez or Gamboa, I'm afraid you'll get KTFO. Go up gradually, clean up bantam, make your pitstop at jr. feather with Vasquez Jr and Molitor, then that's the time to move to 126...

Donaire is too much for Moreno. Moreno is good but he has never faced a Donaire. The "real" challenges for Donaire would be Lopez and Gamboa... Rafa Marquez would be a great fight and would tell us how far Donaire can really go. For some reason I would love to see Donaire fight a prior Lopez or Gamboa opponent to see where he is at... Sky is the limit for Nonito. Nonito is skinny at 5'6 with 68' reach... Pacman is packed in at 5'6 1/2 with 67' reach.. Cotto is 5'7 with 67' reach... I'm not trying to insinuate that he could ever compete against either man or pack in the weight that THEY do efficiently... But the intangibles to move up in weight are easily there with his size.

I think Nonito should do What he said He was going to do and stop the premadona VIP fighters like Mayweather, Manny and HOP.
He should become the undisputed Battamweight Champion, then go up after He's unable to make weight.
              That's how's done.

I'm speaking for myself, I agree with the writer. Donaire at least should fight twice more in the Bantamweight division the winner of the Bantamweight tournament of Showtime and Moreno too. Then move up in Super Bantamweight and fight there at least twice again to get a feeling and to gain weight naturally. Then the dream matches in the Featherweight division by 2013 or at least in the end of 2012. This is a surefire way of slowly gaining weight and feeling out the division. And we get to see exciting fights along the way too.

And, Donaire has never faced a Moreno.

Fact is Moreno does bring in a lot of risk for Donaire. And, fights are won in the ring not on paper.

Would Donaire take the risk? I don't know. Would I love him to? Of course. Should he take a Moreno fight? Legacy wise, yes. Business wise maybe not.

I think he just need 1 fight in 118, 2 fights in 122 then move up to 126 to face gamboa and juanma. WV2 will be a good tune up fight for juanma or gamboa

donaire had a bitter promotional dispute with gary shaw after the darchinyan fight that stalled his career so can't blame him for not getting the big fights back then. but even that he doesn't need to rush things. he still has some exciting fights at bantam...he can fight the winner of mares-agbeko. if he wins then he can move up to 122 and fight wv2. 126 should not be in his radar right now although the bigger money fights are in that division. but donaire is in a better position right now and he'll be the A-side to any matchup at 118 or 122...he'll earn bigger paydays from hereon if he continues winning.
