As for more money, seems Showtime is gonna pay him more to fight bhop. HBO decided not to match that figure for him to fight KKK.
We can agree Stevenson has not been keen on fighting KKK. But signing with all haymon shouldn't prevent HBO from matching the offer he got from Showtime to make this fight.
Again stop bringing up haymon and showtime, this has nothing to do with what im referring to, which is Stevenson turning down a more lucrative offer to fight kovalev. THis completely predates haymon and showtime.

AS is just a pawn. Haymon knows HBO really likes Kovalev and he's not going to let them use his client to promote their fighter. They had a deal prior to AD hiring Haymon.

HBO had right of first refusal. They chose not to match the offer Stevenson got from Showtime. They are just as much at fault.
We all want the best fights. The question is what is the real reason we are not getting them? If you want to see these fights tell Herschman to work with fighters managed by all Haymon.

Sure, he talked a little **** about facing Kovalev, but as I recall, he didn't seem serious. This was his plan all along. If it is in fact true that Stevenson wouldn't guarantee he'd fight Kovalev down the road (and I can totally see that), I can see why HBO wouldn't match Showtime's offer. Stevenson thinks he's going to gain fame and fortune if he can beat 49 year old Hopkins? Maybe, but the opportunity to really blow up lies with him defeating Kovalev. The bottom line is, Adonis is afraid a defeat at the hands of Sergey would sideline his career. A chance to beat famous old man Hopkins is safer. Once again, the fans are denied their wish to see the best fights.
Hbo wanted to get 3 fights out of these 2. They needed to Fill dates since they don't work with GBP. There greed is as much the problem as anything.

There should be no one defending these moves for either network. It should disgust all fans. Im so sick of people bickering over networks and defending promoters.
There are no winners here. It doesnt matter if HBO is as slimy as Showtime. The sport is suffering and because fanboys have to defend their turf, they help things circle the drain faster.
