Comments Thread For: Groves: Froch Has Mental Demons, He is No Warrior!

Super middleweight contender George Groves feels he has WBA/IBF champion Carl Froch right where he wants him. Last November, Groves came close to taking Froch out but fell apart in the late rounds. He had Froch down in the first and continued to land big punches, grabbing a lead on all three scorecards leading into the ninth. It was in that round where Groves was hurt, with referee Howard Foster jumping in a little too soon to wave things off.

Because of the early stoppage, a rematch is now scheduled on May 31 at Wembley Staidum in London.

The rematch should be interesting. Froch better be ready and armed with different game plan.

Froch went to people's back yards to get his respect instead of winning a belt and milking it at home. He had no major TV deal, so in a way he had to go that route, but even then he could have found other ways to milk it, so it shows he is a warrior.

Froch by KO and then Groves will go beg Degale for a rematch.

I feel kinda sorry for George. I mean yes he put on a tremendous display of boxing skill and speed against Carl in the first fight but he fails to take into account that he was teeing off on a visibly wobbled Carl countless times yet DID NOT have the power to put him away. So my question is what's gonna happen in the rematch if George doesn't put Carl on his ass again?
All this smack that George is talking is not backed up by what actually happened in the first fight. In the first fight the guy who was the stronger fighter when it mattered in the later rounds was Carl even after being put on his ass early on. George looked weak, had no pop left in his punches and was hanging on for dear life when Howard Foster stepped in.
Too much talking George. You are gonna look like such a fool when the rematch is over if you can't back up what you are saying. Chances are your boxing career is going down the toilet after this.....I mean how do you come back from that?
Enjoy it while it lasts cos the chances are that you are going home with your reputation completely ruined.

The referee gave Groves a big gift as I do agree he was in trouble... But Froch is not getting any younger. I still think it's 50/50 fight. Maybe only ever slightly leaning towards Froch.
