So Wilder turned down 10M for Povetkin.

Wilder's fans want to see him ignore the top heavyweights and fight other bums stateside.
He has a niche to fill, an audience to give a champion and have rap songs written about him. The return of the '70s golden age will be ushered in when he beats a 1034th ranked opponent at MSG.
That's his job, not getting his ass beat by Povetkin. I doubt his handlers would even ALLOW him to sign such a contract.

They are also talking as if Wilder is still a prospect.

Just noticed the WBC hasn't even updated their title holders or rankings on their website since Wilder won.

His last fight showed that as he looked way better that in previous fights. He had a very good jab, good foot work and better defense(although he got hit flush a few times) and very poised. He loooked very improved and with potential to look better in the future as he showed he can learn and apply it in the ring. Hell, I was calling him a bum but he surprised me!
I looked phenomenal shuffling my feet and doing windup feints in my last fight against BOB

America has been hoping for a HW champ for years, why would he have his first defence outside of America? Good offer, but Wilder as the champ shouldn't have to travel to Moscow for his first defence.
