No it took Floyd years to get to where Joshua is now, probably not until post Gatti. At that point he became a $10 million fighter, until Oscar when he started to become a $20-30 million fighter and it got bigger and bigger until Pac..

But the comparison is similar if you look at it relatively.

Joshua is a $10-15 milliion now, it doesn't matter how long it took him to get there, might I add that he probably has the best resume of the 3 champions. But lets stay on track as you are talking about two different subject matters, legacy vs commercial value and convoluting them into one.

Yes Joshua wants to prove himself which is why he is probably going to end up paying these guys well over what they are worth to get the fights made. I was trying to make give you some economic perspective of fighters who have been in similar situations.

You also haven't read my post correctly, % are dumb to talk about when you get to a certain point, ie. You started talking about what mando's get, which is irrelevant when you get to this level of financial fight. Do you think Pulev was getting his mandatory purse split? No because Joshua is a headliner and a fighter like him doesn't go to purse bids. But you can pretty much guarantee that he was getting by far his career best pay day plus a shot at two belts.

So was it okay when Floyd offered Pac a flat fee? Floyd was making more than Pac, and the offer was for more than Pac had ever made, although we all always knew the fight would make crazy money. The most someone previously made is pointless when considering a bigger fight. Joshua still should make much more but constantly bringing up previous max purses are irrelevant. By that logic Pac was wrong for not leaving that extra 60 million on the table when Floyd tried to lowball him.

And Pulev didn't go to purse bid, but suppose his promoter was smarter and refused to negotiate and it did go to purse bid. He would've gotten that percentage or AJ would've been forced to give up his belt. His superstar status wouldn't have mattered.

I'll leave it at this, 35-65 should be more than appreciated by each fighter, but as a fan i dont care what they end up with. Even if it's 10%. I just dont want to waste anymore time not getting the unifications. As long as we argue about their money, they're fine postponing the fight. If everyone in all these purse split threads said "make the fight", these threads wouldn't exist. We'd be arguing in the official fight thread about who'd win the fight.

Every A-side in boxing history - has asked for the bigger purse and a rematch clause - have you seen the judging in boxing???

This is such a non-story and more filibustering...

That's not a like for like at all. Everyone involved and even the fans knew the projected numbers would mean a much bigger purse than that even if it underachieved.

Parker doesn't equate to a massive boost to ppv sales say like Wlad did, or Pac did in your example. This fight will probably do a touch more on ppv just because Joshua is unifying, commercially Parker brings very little to the table, he is more comparable to Maidana or Ortiz as belt holders but not a big profile outside hard-core fans. In fact Parker is a lot less known than those guys.

Yes Pulev could go to purse bids and force Joshua to vacate, where does that get him? Probably a 6 figure pay day, where they have to set up a fight with the next ranked guy, organise a date, a venue, and no guarantee of victory. Slippery slope.

I understand you're from New Zealand and Joseph Parker is the only fighter you have right now. It's commendable that you get behind him. But step into reality for a minute.

Parker should accept 70-30 with that rematch clause if he truly believes he will win.
If he wins, his bargaining power will increase in the rematch.

So now it's right to pay champions less than mandatories make? Okay! I saw everyone in the other thread everyone ignored Hearn saying he might just make the Whyte rematch. I guess that's fine too right? So how this works is AJ is fine to fight bums since he sells out crowds and both other champions want more money. You all aren't boxing fans, you're f@ggots in love with a man. Never seen men love men so much that they can't see any wrong they do. Like really are yall even this lenient with females? Probably not.
What a total arse. A ****phobic, misogynistic one too.

Floyd and Pac was a fight the World wanted, hence 4 mil plus PPV in the US but loads around the World.

Floyd and Pac were stars in their own right and were involved in 1 Mil PPV's etc.

Joshua VS Parker is not a fight the World wants.

Parker is not a cash cow himself.
