As soon as It's all hooked up it only takes about a minute for the receiver to pick up all the channels.

The plug and scart lead should both come with the box.

I use one of these to split the cable connected to my modem ( This will only work if at one point you had a joint package installed in your house Eg. Tv & Internet from the same provider ):

Just put your cable wire into the back of the box, connect the scart lead, plug it in and yer should be good to go.
