OK, but I'm sure HBO doesn't care about his fanbase that's not making their network money. So that's moot to the discussion don't cha think.

I was actually defending Floyd's opponent selection back in the HBO forum days. You're getting senile Hitster.

That would completely crack Golovkin's aura, considering that Lara would be Golovkin's first world-class opponent and a significant underdog.

I agree. He is clearly better than Lara. Lara is a solid journeyman who will spoil and try to make everyone look bad. But when the lights are on him, the best you get out of him is the performance he put up against Canelo - which wasn't much.

It's just that everyone focused on Canelo himself, as if he was exposed. If you put the focus on Lara himself and ignore Canelo --- Lara didn't do anything to deserve a win in that fight. No knockdowns, no clear outboxing of Canelo during any of the rounds. If you're gonna move around that much, you're better be putting on a clinic.

The international revenue K2 earn from Golovkin's fights means that HBO don't need to dig deep into their pockets to fund them.

Another thing to remember is that the 2 delayed screenings of GGG/lemieux broadcast by HBO were both watched by over 1.25 million viewers.

HBO did ok with that fight.

Or at least, you better be clearly landing more punches than your opponent, like Fury did against Wlad.

Lara didn't do that against Canelo.

I thought Lara did more offensively against Canelo than Fury did against Wlad. To be honest, I thought there was a lotta BS-ery and smoke-n-mirrors in Fury's performance against Wlad. Reminded me a bit of Mayorga's rematch against Forrest. Honestly, had expectations not been so low for Fury heading in. I don't think his performance would have been recieved as well as its been.
